Hello! My name is Michael Schnetzer. I am a US Army Veteran who loves to be outside and working with my hands. My curiosity for the honeybee world started in the spring of 2024 with buying just 2 hives. Exploring my hives with this new hobby was absolutely fascinating, so I continued to do my research and in the summer of 2025, decided to take the step into making this a business venture. I am committed to promoting sustainable and ethical beekeeping practices while only using locally collected raw honey and ingredients sourced from South Dakota suppliers.

Our wildflower honey bursts with the untamed essence of the South Dakota grasslands. Bees forage from vibrant prairie blooms like coneflowers, sunflowers, milkweed, and goldenrod, infusing each drop with floral complexity along with hints of clover sweetness, earthy spice, and subtle tang. Raw and unfiltered, this golden nectar boasts antioxidants, traces of pollen, and a velvety texture.

Along with pure, raw wildflower honey. Dakota Acres crafts our flavor infused honeys using ingredients sourced only from South Dakota small businesses. It is important to us that our new and returning customers know exactly what is going into our honeys and where we are getting those ingredients from. Ingredient transparency is of upmost important in this highly processed world!

Whether you buy your honey locally from us or have it shipped to you, rest assured that it will only be in glass bottles. With so much plastic packaging waste and the concern for microplastics, glass just makes sense! Should your honey crystalize in the jar, a glass bottle is easier to scoop from or re-warm without fear of distortion. Plu
Plus, it can easily be recycled by returning your bottle to us for a small discount off of your next bottle!
Let us know how things are going for you and what questions you may have about bees! Please send us any requests for new products & flavors!
Find a swarm! Call and let me know where it's at! A caught swarm gets a free bottle of honey! (Applies only for locally reported swarms).
